BATESVILLE, Ark. (9/20) -- Martin Methodist's Shir Levo (Sophomore/Timrat, Israel) was named the TranSouth Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 19, 2010. The award represents Levo's first as a RedHawk.

Levo, a 5-6 defender, anchored a back line that did not allow a goal against No. 1-ranked Concordia University (Ore.) and helped lead MMC's defense against No. 6 Cal Baptist in a narrow 2-1 defeat.

Levo and the RedHawks will take on their first TSAC opponents this season, facing Freed-Hardeman on Tuesday night at 7pm and Lyon College on Saturday at 3pm. Both matchups will be featured at home on East Campus in Pulaski, Tennessee.
