Women's Soccer: No. 8 MMC Clinches TSAC First Round Bye with 2-0 Win Over Bethel

MCKENZIE, Tenn. - Scoring a pair of goals, one in each frame, No. 8 Martin Methodist women's soccer claimed a 2-0 victory over Bethel University, a team receiving votes in the latest edition of the NAIA Top 25. The win improved MMC to 11-1-1, and 5-0-1 in the TranSouth.

Mor Efraim claimed the game-winner just 12 minutes in, scoring her 15th season goal for a 1-0 edge over the Lady Wildcats. Linnea Sahlin then found Nicole O'Donnell in the second half, as the senior forward netted her 11th of the season to cushion the 2-0 score.

MMC's keeper Hanit Schwarz made four saves in the affair, as Bethel fired six shots on goal. The RedHawks totaled 16 shot to BU's 11, while the Wildcats held the advantage in corners, 6 to 5.

With just one more game on the regular season schedule, the No. 8 RedHawks will finish their season with perhaps their toughest contest in a go with No. 1 Lindsey Wilson College on Saturday in Columbia, Kentucky.

As the TSAC season comes to a close, MMC will look to earn a bye in the first round of the league tournament, and will await the final matches to complete the week for official pairing. The RedHawks will be scheduled to host their semi-final match at home on Tuesday, November 8th.
