COLUMBIA, Ky. – Aisling Kerr and Lauren Badalamente scored their first-ever goals in a Martin Methodist uniform as the 14th-ranked Women's Soccer knocked off Westminster (Utah) College 2-0 at the Lindsey Wilson College Classic Friday night.

After a scoreless first half turned into a nearly scoreless second half, the RedHawks (3-1) exploded for a pair of goals within five minutes of one another.

In the 75th minute, Kerr took a pass and slipped through the Griffin defense before burying her first-ever RedHawk goal for the game's opening score.

With the Griffins (3-4) pressing offensively, Badalamente struck for her first career goal just minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0 and effectively seal the win for the RedHawks.

Despite holding a 7-4 shot edge, the RedHawks only fired two shots on goal – the goals from Kerr and Badalamente.

"It was a great victory for our side this afternoon," RedHawks head coach Tyson John said. "Westminster is a Top 30 side and they played tremendous defense all afternoon. We will take the good and bad from this match and use that towards our own improvement."

In addition to lifting the RedHawks to victory, Kerr and Badalamente also became the first RedHawks other than Taylor Samsel to notch a goal this season.

"It was really nice to see Badalamente and Kerr find the back of the net today," John said. "They are two of our more prolific goal scorers and it was nice to see them finally put one on the scoresheet."

Aisling Dyer made three saves in net for the RedHawks, notching the first clean sheet in her RedHawk career.

The RedHawks return to action Saturday afternoon against Indiana Wesleyan, a team currently receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Poll.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. in Columbia, Ky.
