Cabral, a senior forward from Porto Alegre, Brazil, earned the honor after she bagged six goals in two contests for the RedHawks (2-0). Cabral notched two goals in the club's season-opening win versus Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) and followed up with four goals Sunday afternoon versus SCAD-Savannah (Ga.)
Cabral won six Player of the Week awards last season, en route to the league's Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year awards.
Mathes, a sophomore defender from Knoxville, Tennessee, earned the award after she helped guide the RedHawks to a pair of shutouts. Mathes anchored the backline for the RedHawks during their two matches and featured in all 180 minutes of play.
Mathes got involved on the offensive end of play, as well, when she bagged the match-winner in the win versus SCAD-Savannah. Mathes headed home the goal in the seventh minute for her second ever goal as a RedHawk.
The RedHawks return to action this Friday, Aug. 31, when they host Aquinas (Mich.). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Grissom Pitch.
