Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. – The No. 7 Martin Methodist Women's Soccer team took a few minutes to get warmed up, but wasted little time putting away visiting Brewton-Parker (Ga.) in a 10-1 rout at Grissom Pitch Thursday night.
Yuki Watari and Adisa Amang both bagged hat tricks in the blowout win for the RedHawks (10-3-1, 4-1 SSAC), who outshot the Barons (4-9-1, 0-4-1 SSAC) by a 29-2 margin. The RedHawks outshot the Barons 13-0 in the first half, where they led 5-0 after the opening 45 minutes.
Lily Fisk, Natsuna Sugishita, Suzuho Yamasaki and Mackenzie Stroebel also added goals in the lopsided win for the RedHawks, who improved to 9-0 all-time versus the Barons. Fisk's goal was just the second of her career and the first this season for the sophomore.
Sugishita also flourished as a playmaker in the win, collecting five assists as the RedHawks ran away with the victory.
The win was a special one for RedHawk midfielder Laila Espamer, who was recognized after the contest as the squad's lone senior during Senior Night festivities.
The RedHawks emptied the bench in the win, with every available squad member receiving minutes. The RedHawks rotated three goalkeepers in the victory, with starter Gabby Kennedy playing just 26:37 before giving way to backup goalkeepers Hallie Cherry and Taylor Heredia.
The win kept the RedHawks in sole possession of second place in the SSAC standings, with just three contests remaining.
The RedHawks will cap their regular-season home schedule on Saturday, Oct. 26, when they host Middle Georgia State. The Knights (9-4-1, 2-2-1) suffered a hard-fought 1-0 defeat at Bethel (Tenn.) in their Thursday matchup.
The RedHawks then travel to Faulkner (Oct. 31) and Dalton State (Nov. 2) to close their regular season.
