Box Score HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The #1 University of Tennessee Southern suffered their first loss of the season against 2020 national champion #6 Keiser 3-nil on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Keiser would get on the board in the 25th minute on an intercepted pass. Kyoka Koshijima would beat keeper Brooke Shavers. The Firehawks would work to find an equalizer, but couldn't break the line. The Seahawks would add a late first-half goal to lead at the break 2-nil. Keiser would hold the shot advantage 9-7.
UTS would continue battle if get on the board, but the Seahawks would add a third goal. KU would score it off a corner eight minutes into the final stanza. KU would outshoot the Firehawks 19-15 and hold shots-on-goal 13-6.
Shavers allowed three goals and recorded six saves. She would fall to 2-1 on the season guarding the net.
