Box Score HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer erased a 2-nil first half deficit before a late Cruasder goal gave the Firehawks their first Southern States Athletic Conference loss on Thursday.
#1 William Carey (9-0, 3-0) scored in the 22nd and 38th minute against the Firehawks. The Crusaders led in shots at the half 15-0.
In the second half, #10 UT Southern (6-3-1, 1-1) would draw even with the top ranked team in the land. Marina Nawa would connect on a penalty in the 53rd minute to slash the WCU lead in half. Two minutes later, Maclani Michael would finish the Nao Katamoto lag to level the match at two each. WCU would answer later in the half to end the Firehawk comeback. William Carey would lead in shots 24-8 and hold an 7-3 shot on goal margin.
Layken Stockstill (6-2-1) recorded four saves and allowed three goals.

The Firehawks will travel to Mobile, Ala., facing the University of Mobile on Saturday, September 23. The SSAC match will kickoff at 1:30 p.m.
