PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team extended their winning streak to eight in a row with a 7-nil dominate shutout of Dalton State on Saturday. Today's matchup will be the final home regular season match at Grissom Pitch since next week's Blue Mountain Christian game was deemed a forfeit win for UTS.
In the first half, the Firehawks netted three goals in front of the home crowd.
Maclani Michael scored the game winner from the
Nao Katamoto assist in the ninth minute. Seven minutes later, Michael completed a first half brace on the helper from
Kamilia Tayebi. In the 19
th minute,
Hikaru Uchida connected on a penalty kick giving the Firehawks a 3-nil lead at the half. UTS led in shots at the break 10-0 and 7-0 in shots on goal.
In the final half, the Firehawks would add four more two pointers to put the match out of reach.
Keito Ido got the party started with a quick goal from Michael. Michael netted her third goal from the
Lena Stockfisch lag in the 53
rd minute. Michael completed the haul in the 56
th minute. The final goal was by
Mia Saum from Katamoto in the 70
th minute.
UTS outshot Dalton State 20-0 and led 13-0 in shots on goal.
Stephanie Hodgson (6-0-1) didn't face a shot in 64 minutes.

Petra Brncova closed out the shared clean sheet.

The Firehawks will travel to Thomasville, Ga., to tango with Thomas. The game was originally scheduled for September 28
th, was postponed due to hurricane Helene. The Firehawks and Nighthawks will battle at 10 a.m.
