KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) proudly announces the 2024 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for fall sports. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the fall sports who have excelled academically including football, men's cross country, men's soccer, women's cross country, women's soccer, and women's volleyball.
UT Southern had five teams represented in the 2024 Fall list. Women's soccer led with 11, and Men's soccer was next with nine. Women's cross country had four, Men's cross country had two, and volleyball rounded out the list with one.
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features numerous student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.
Earning honors from women's soccer include

Lauryn Amonette,
Madison Wetzig,
Marina Nawa,
Karis Knaggs,
Kira Goodwin,
Jessica Glassman, and
Jamie Brown.
Men's soccer recipients were
Manuel Villena,
Ezekial Opie,
Alan Munoz,
Hector Garcia,
Manuel Flores,
Tayte Aldridge,
Daniel Aza Lozano,
Santana Carrillo, and
Dawson Atnip.
Daniel Sanchez and
Tyler Malone received honors from the men's cross country.
Olivia Barksdale,
Amelia Worsley,
Emma Vizina, and
Miriam Schulz were named for women's cross country.
Morgan Avrit earned the honor in women's volleyball.
Over 1,000 Daktronics Scholar-Athletes were named in women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's soccer, with 1,328, 1,105, and 1,043 scholar-athletes, respectively.
