PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team continued their hot start to the season defeating NCAA DII Alabama-Huntsville 1-nil on Saturday.
In the first half, the Firehawks kept play in the UAH defensive side leading in shots 5-0. In the 25th minute, on a deep played ball the Firehawks were awarded a penalty kick that proved to be the difference in the match. Carlos Galan went one-on-one with Charger keeper Sonny Wright and score his first goal of the year. UT Southern led 1-nil at the half and 11-4 shot advantage. In the final half, mass substitutions by UAH held the Firehawks shotless.
Michael Anderson (2-0) faced one shot and recorded the save. Anderson shared the clean sheet with Louis Hester who didn't face a shot in the final half.

The Firehawks will travel to Montevallo, Ala., to take one the Falcons, another NCAA DII institution, in an exhibition on Wednesday, August 28th. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
