PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern Head Coach Murphy Davis released the 2025 Firehawk softball schedule on Tuesday. UTS has 42 games plus an appearance in the Gulf Shores Invitational on the docket this season. The Firehawks were 26-22 last year and sported a 10-16 Southern States Athletic Conference regular season record.
UT Southern opens the season on the road at Cumberland on February 8 and Stillman on the 11th. The Firehawks will host Oakwood on the 12th for their home opener at Royce Hughes Field. Six days later, UTS will travel to Bethel for one last non-conference tune-up before SSAC play begins. The Firehawks close out the month with Friday twin bills with Faulkner on the 21st at the "Royce" and traveling to Mobile on the 28th.
March will have three home, and three away doubleheaders, and the Gulf Shores Invitational. The month starts in Hattiesburg, Miss., with William Carey on the 1st. UTS will stay on the road traveling to Gulf Shores, Ala., for the weekend Invitational beginning on the 7th. The Firehawks will return home for three straight sets with Cumberland (11th), Blue Mountain Christian (15th), and Middle Georgia State (21th). Two road series close out the month in Georgia, visiting Point on the 28th and Abraham Baldwin on the 29th.
Nine twin bills remain on the schedule in April. Starting with trip to Talladega on the 1st. The Firehawks will return home hosting Thomas and Brewton-Parker on the 4th and 5th. An Alabama road trip begins in Hunstville, facing Oakwood on the 8th and concludes in Montgomery with Faulkner on the 11th. With four league dates left on the slate, UTS will be at the "Royce" for three straight home sets with Freed-Hardeman on the 15th, Mobile on the 17th, and William Carey on the 18th. The final twin bill of the regular season will be a road trip to Mississippi, tangoing with the Toppers of Blue Mountain Christian.
The SSAC Championship will be a double elimination bracket format, beginning on May 1st. It will be held at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur, Ala.
Coach Davis enters her second season with the Firehawks. Her career record at UT Southern is 26-22.
