Tayebi’s Hat Trick Powers #25 Firehawks Past Faulkner on the Road

Senior Forward Sparks UT Southern to Convincing 4–1 Victory in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 25 University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team put together a dominant offensive showing on Saturday afternoon, defeating Faulkner University 4–1 at Billy Hilyer Stadium. Senior forward Kamilia Tayebi netted a hat trick, while Hikaru Uchida added a goal and an assist to lead the Firehawks to another strong SSAC road win.

First Half Recap

UT Southern opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Hikaru Uchida calmly converted a penalty kick following a Faulkner red card. The goal marked Uchida's fifth of the season. The Firehawks doubled their lead in the 30th minute as Kamilia Tayebi buried a low strike off a setup from Riho Masuya to make it 2–0.

Faulkner responded with a goal before halftime to cut the deficit to 2–1 heading into the break.

Second Half Recap

UT Southern regained full control in the second half. In the 65th minute, Osiris Rodriguez connected with Tayebi for her second goal of the day, extending the lead to 3–1. Tayebi then completed her hat trick in the 74th minute with a composed finish off an assist from Uchida. The three-goal performance gave Tayebi her sixth, seventh, and eighth goals of the season.

Goalkeeper Stephanie Hodgson anchored the back line with three saves, while defenders Charlotte Taylor, Gianna Guillermo, and Kendra Brungardt helped limit Faulkner's second-half opportunities.
