COLUMBIA, Ky. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team fell 5–2 on the road to No. 22 Lindsey Wilson on Thursday evening. The Firehawks struck first in the opening half and added another in the late stages, but a powerful Blue Raider attack pulled away after halftime.
UT Southern moves to 8-5-2 overall, while Lindsey Wilson improves to 6-4-2.
Match Summary
The Firehawks opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when Kamilia Tayebi netted her ninth goal of the season on an unassisted strike. Lindsey Wilson equalized just three minutes later via an own goal, sending the teams to halftime knotted at 1–1.
After the break, the Blue Raiders took control with four second-half goals. Ellie Walker pulled one back in the 82nd minute, finishing off a cross from Hikaru Uchida, who tallied the assist. It was Walker's fourth goal of the season.
Goalkeeper Stephanie Hodgson faced 11 shots on goal and made six saves in 87 minutes of action.
