PULASKI, Tenn. – The No. 16 University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team started their Southern States Athletic Conference schedule in style, defeating Thomas 5–0 Thursday evening at Grissom Pitch. The Firehawks controlled the match from start to finish, posting their fourth win of the season.
Ellie Walker got things started quickly, scoring just 2:42 into the match to put UTS ahead. Riho Masuya added a goal in the 11th minute off an assist from Charlotte Taylor, and Walker struck again in the 22nd minute on a setup from Karla Montiel.
After the break, Taylor finished in the 59th minute from a feed by Masuya before Millie Rayner capped the scoring in the 84th, assisted again by Montiel.
In goal, Stephanie Hodgson tallied three saves to secure the clean sheet.
