MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2025 SSAC Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team, with UT Southern's Amon Rotich earning recognition among the league's top performers both academically and athletically.
Rotich was one of eight student-athletes selected to the Scholar-Athlete Team after meeting the conference's rigorous standards in the classroom and on the course. To qualify, honorees must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, carry a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, be a starter or significant reserve, and compete in at least 50 percent of their team's races.
In addition to his academic success, Rotich earned All-Conference honors by placing among the top 15 finishers at the SSAC Championship, joining a Scholar-Athlete Team in which every member achieved that distinction.
Loyola's Jace Luckoski was named the 2025 SSAC Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year after posting a 3.99 GPA and finishing eighth at the conference championship.
Rotich's selection continues UT Southern men's cross country's tradition of excellence, showcasing the Firehawks' commitment to success both in competition and in the classroom.
