Firehawks Reach Semifinals, Earn Multiple SSAC Honors

Firehawks Combine Postseason Success with Academic Excellence

MOBILE, Ala. – The UT Southern men's and women's tennis teams wrapped up play at the 2026 SSAC Tennis Championships, highlighted by a semifinal appearance from the Firehawk men and strong individual recognition across postseason awards.

MEN'S TOURNAMENT

UT Southern opened the championship with a dominant 4-0 sweep over Blue Mountain Christian in the quarterfinal round.

The Firehawks secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Brock Hamilton and Quentin Ferron earned a 6-3 victory at the top spot, while Ayden Kousis and Luis Guilherme Cupertino de Santana followed with a 6-0 decision.

In singles play, UT Southern closed out the match with three straight-set victories:

In the semifinal round, UT Southern faced No. 24 Loyola, falling 4-1.

The Firehawks earned a doubles win at No. 2 as Luis Guilherme Cupertino de Santana and Ayden Kousis secured a 6-4 victory.
