CUTHBERT, Ga. – The UT Southern men's soccer team continued its undefeated start to the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Andrew College 3-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference action.
The Firehawks improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play, recording their third shutout of the season and extending their winning streak to five matches.
UT Southern controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Andrew College 31-4 and holding a commanding 21-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Firehawks also earned eight corner kicks compared to three for the Tigers.
After generating a number of quality opportunities early, UT Southern broke through in the 21st minute when Lorick Gustave finished a setup from David Danquah to give the Firehawks a 1-0 lead. The goal was Gustave's second of the season and proved to be the game-winner.
The Firehawks carried that advantage into halftime despite forcing Andrew goalkeeper Teagan Paulo into several difficult saves. Andrew's defense repeatedly blocked shots near the goal line to keep the deficit at one.
UT Southern doubled its lead early in the second half when Benjamin Chretien converted a penalty kick in the 51st minute for his first goal of the season.
The Firehawks continued to attack throughout the final 45 minutes and added a third goal in the 88th minute. After leading the offensive charge all afternoon, Filippo Fregoli buried a penalty kick for his second goal of the season to seal the 3-0 victory.
Fregoli was a constant threat in the attacking third, finishing with a match-high 10 shots and seven shots on goal. Christian Sentz added five shots and three shots on frame, while Gustave contributed a goal and three shots on target.
Defensively, the Firehawks were just as impressive. Andrew managed only four total shots and one shot on goal, with goalkeeper William McGinn recording the lone save needed to preserve the clean sheet.
