John Dochety enters his sixth season as Head Coach of the University of Tennessee Southern men’s and women’s golf programs in 2025–26.

A PGA member since 2001, Dochety brings decades of experience in competitive and instructional golf to the Firehawk program. Prior to transitioning to college coaching, he spent four years as an assistant golf professional at the prestigious East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia—home of the PGA Tour Championship—before serving 13 years as head golf professional at Lakewood Golf & Country Club.

Throughout his career, Dochety has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing young golfers. Before joining the collegiate ranks, he successfully coached two PGA Jr. League teams to Tennessee State Championships, showcasing his ability to build competitive and cohesive teams.

Under his leadership, the Firehawk golf programs continue to grow in both competitiveness and culture, benefitting from his deep knowledge of the game, professional background, and passion for player development.
