Trevor Trimpe enters his third season as the head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming programs at the University of Tennessee Southern in 2025–26.
Before joining UT Southern, Trimpe served as head coach at both Midland University and West Virginia Tech, bringing valuable experience at the collegiate level across multiple programs.
A former collegiate swimmer himself, Trimpe walked on to the swim team at Valparaiso University. After a standout freshman year, he earned a partial scholarship for his remaining three seasons. As a sophomore, he was part of the school record-setting 200 Medley Relay team and currently holds the second-fastest time in school history in the 500 freestyle. He also ranks in the top ten for both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Trimpe served as a co-captain during his senior season and began coaching during his final semester, assisting with a USA Club Team.
After graduating from Valparaiso in December 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography and GIS, Trimpe decided to pursue coaching full-time. In September 2013, he was hired as an assistant coach at Norwich University. Over his four-year tenure, he played a key role in growing the women’s team roster from just four swimmers to over 15.
During his time at Norwich, the women's team secured their first dual meet victory since 2010, and the program broke 18 school records. Trimpe also helped produce three conference champions. His success in building and developing talent at Norwich laid the foundation for his future head coaching roles.
Trimpe earned an MBA with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Norwich University in June 2017.
