Cassi Whitworth joined the UT Southern women’s basketball program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Whitworth brings nearly a decade of coaching experience to the Firehawks, having developed talent at both the high school and club levels. She most recently served as head coach at St. Cecilia Academy in Nashville, Tenn., for two seasons. In addition to her high school coaching experience, she spent eight years coaching a 17U Under Armour AAU team, where she was instrumental in player development and recruitment guidance for young athletes competing at a national level.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Whitworth played four seasons at Cumberland University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management in 2020. Her playing and coaching experiences have shaped a relationship-focused, development-first coaching philosophy that aligns with UT Southern’s mission to cultivate student-athletes on and off the court.
Known for her energy, recruiting connections, and ability to build strong relationships, Whitworth is expected to play a key role in player development, scouting, recruiting, and on-court instruction for the Firehawks.
