BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Improving to 6-7 on the year, the RedHawks downed NCAA Division III opponent Birmingham Southern with a 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 25-16) victory.
Senior Precious Sanders led the charge for MMC, recording her second triple-double of the season with 14 kills, 18 assists, and 17 digs. Paula Sioto dished out a team-high 21 assists, turning in 13 digs, while Sandra Stojimirovic led the team with 20 digs.
MMC won the first set, 25-21, and BSC rebounded to win the second set, 25-18. The third set was a close and hard-fought contest, but the Red Hawks came out on top again, 25-20. MMC clinched the match by winning the fourth set, 25-16.
The RedHawks hit the road again on Thursday to face conference opponent Cumberland University at 6pm in Lebanon, Tennessee.
