Volleyball: RedHawks Surrender To Wildcats in TranSouth Match, 3-0

PULASKI, Tenn. - MMC volleyball suffered a sweep on Tuesday evening on their home court, falling to league leader Bethel University in three sets. The RedHawks were led by Ulirike Gebhardt who tallied 10 kills and five blocks, four assisted and one solo, while Precious Sanders tallied 13 digs to lead the defense in the affair.

Precious Sanders tallied nine kills, followed by Paula Sioto's eight. The two shared setting responsibilities as Sioto turned in nine and Sanders dished out eight helpers. Sioto also added to the defense with double-digit digs, 10, and three blocks, as Ann-Katherin Kuehorn helped at the net with four blocks of her own.

Neither team hit above .200 in the entire match, with Bethel at .168 and MMC at .069. MMC took a first set loss, 25-19, and despite inching closer in the second set, fell 25-21. The RedHawks tried to extend the match with a tight third frame, eventually tying the set at 23-23, but it was the Wildcats who came up with the final two points to take the victory.

The RedHawks host Freed-Hardeman University on Thursday night, set to begin at 7pm in the Christian Life Center.
