PULASKI, Tenn.- The Martin Methodist Volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat to University of Mobile (Ala.) inside the Curry Christian Life Center Thursday night.
The RedHawks (11-17, 8-10 SSAC) started the match on a positive note, as the team battled through a back-and-forth first set and ultimately prevailed with a 25-19 win.
The Rams (27-6, 18-1 SSAC) would regain the momentum of the match as the Rams went on to win the next two sets by a combined 16 points.
The RedHawks nearly forced a fifth set, however their efforts proved to be just short as Mobile rattled off a string of multiple points to win the match in the fourth set.
Offensively, Brittney Pepitone led the RedHawks in the kills category with 11 kills on 21 attacks.
Defensively, three RedHawks posted double figures in digs as Domynique Kloss (17), Hayley Brisendine (11), and Sydney Arnold (10) were the anchors defensively on Thursday night.
Hannah Buck led the Rams offensive attack with 15 kills on 34 total attacks.
The RedHawks will look towards Friday and Saturday matchups with Loyola (La.) University and William Carey (Miss.) University.
Matches are set to begin at 7 and 2 p.m respectively.
