Box Score

PULASKI, Tenn. – The Martin Methodist Men's Soccer team utilized six different goalscorers in a 6-1 victory versus Brescia (Ky.) Tuesday night in its home opener at Grissom Pitch.

The RedHawks (1-1) took control of the match in the 14th minute and never relinquished the lead. Freshman forward Miguel Tizapa opened the scoring as the RedHawks bagged their first goal of the season.

Ahead by one, the RedHawks essentially put the game away with three goals in an eight-minute span.

Alex Kleczkowski, Mario Lopez and Guilherme Calache notched goals in the 26th, 28th and 34th minutes, respectively, to put the home side ahead 4-0 at the halftime break.

In the event of a possible visitor comeback, the RedHawks sealed the victory with a goal just 30 seconds into the second half. Kleczkowski crossed a ball to Tizapa, who passed along to Drew Bradford for the finish.

The RedHawks capped their scoring just six minutes later on a strike from sophomore forward Jonas Arcalean.

From there, the RedHawks emptied the bench as 13 RedHawk reserves saw action in the second half.

The lone blemish on the night came when starting goalkeeper Julien Gregoire committed a foul in the box and surrendered the ensuing penalty kick.

On the night, the RedHawks outshot the Bearcats (1-1) by a 21-5 margin.

With the win, the RedHawks improved to 23-9-5 at home under head coach Chris Leonardi. The RedHawks have also now won eight of their last nine regular-season home matches.
