Box Score 4 PULASKI, Tenn. – The Martin Methodist Volleyball team will look to continue its unbeaten run in SSAC play this weekend when it travels to Georgia for a two-match conference road trip.
The RedHawks (14-5, 7-0 SSAC) have rattled off seven straight victories overall and are perfect their league contests thus far this season. Since starting the year with just one win in their first five matches, the RedHawks have posted a 13-1 record.
Most recently, the RedHawks picked up a pair of victories at home versus Loyola (La.) and University of Mobile (Ala.). The matches were critical ones for the RedHawks, who moved into sole possession atop the SSAC standings.
Friday's contest was a four-set victory, with Saturday's win taking the RedHawks just three sets.
Kara Nelms had a big weekend offensively for the RedHawks, with the sophomore posting 18 kills in Friday's victory. Rebecka Cronin shouldered the attacking load in Saturday's win with 13 kills. As a team, the RedHawks hit a collective .308 in the win on Saturday.
The wins were big ones for the RedHawks, who are two whole wins ahead of Mobile (15-10, 7-2 SSAC) and Bethel (12-10, 6-2) in the SSAC's win column.
On Friday, Oct. 18, the RedHawks will travel to Cochran, Georgia for a showdown at Middle Georgia State. The RedHawks will follow up with a Saturday afternoon clash at Brewton-Parker (Ga.).
The RedHawks have three more home contests remaining, beginning with matches next weekend versus Faulkner (Ala.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, respectively.
