RedHawks Drop RV Campbellsville

Box Score

PULASKI, Tenn. – In front of a raucous home crowd, the Martin Methodist Volleyball team pieced together an impressive 3-0 win versus Campbellsville (Ky.) Thursday night in the Curry Christian Life Center.

In a rematch of a contest played on the road just nine days ago, the RedHawks (3-4) flipped the script on the Tigers (6-2). All three sets in the first meeting were tightly contested, with the home team prevailing. Thursday's contest was a similar result as the RedHawks won all three sets by a combined nine points.

An electric Curry Christian Life Center crowd helped fuel the RedHawks to victory as they vanquished their first ranked or receiving votes foe since they defeated University of Mobile (Ala.) back on Oct. 5, 2015.

Sydney Arnold turned in a terrific performance in the win for the RedHawks, posting 29 assists to go along with 13 digs defensively.

Hayley Brisendine, who was recognized in a ceremony before the match as the program's all-time digs leader, posted 32 digs on the night in just three sets.

On the attack, five RedHawks posted five-plus kills on the evening. Lauren Martin (9), Kara Nelms (8), Rebecka Cronin (7), Kaitlyn Lund (6) and Chandler Salvig (6) accounted for all but two of the RedHawks 38 kills on the evening.

The win gives the RedHawks two victories in a row after losing four of their first five to start the season.

The RedHawks return to action next Tuesday, Sept. 10, when they host Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). First serve is set for 7 p.m. in the CLC.
