Box Score Pulaski, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern Firehawks fell in double overtime to Georgetown 4-3 today.
The decision was the second double overtime loss for the Firehawks (6-5, 3-4 MSC).
UTS would light the lamps with a corner kick goal off the back post from Carlos Galan in the 17th minute. The Tigers would secure an equalizer from Christopher Gschwent from the assist of Mark Zimmerman. Georgetown would outshoot the Firehawks 7-6 in the first half.
Early in the second half, UTS would add two quick goals. Caio Brandao would find the net from Manuel Santos in the 47th minute. Santos would strike on a well played cross from Galan in the 52nd minute to extend the lead to 3-1. Georgetown was not finished, answered right back with a goal from Alessandro Carnicell from Jake McKettrick. UTS keeper Ajay Murray would appear to block the shot with his left foot, but the ball would carom across the line to close the gap to 3-2. Georgetown (10-1-1, 5-1-1 MSC) would add a second equalizer in the 72nd minute when Carnicell would find the net again with help from Sebastian Bocaz Cana. Georgetoen would lead in shots 16-12 after regulation.
In the second overtime, Cana would secure the golden goal for the Tigers. The Firehawks would be outshot 20-15 in the contest.
Murray would record seven saves on 11 Tiger shots on goal.
