Firehawks Overpower Wildcats

Pulaski, Tenn. - The University of Tennenssee Southern volleyball team defeated arch rival Bethel University (7-10, 1-9 MSC) tonight 25-19, 16-25, 25-23, 25-19.

The Firehawks (18-8, 5-6 MSC) were lead by Maca Ruiz with 15 kills, Briana Turner added 12  and Kaitlyn Lund contributed 11. Fernanda Orsi had 24 assists and 9 digs. Summer Jackson added 15 digs for the Firehawks. 

Saturday UTS honored nine seniors before the match. Those honored were: Lund, Kara Nelms, Turner, Jackson, Samantha Killian, Alexis Snow, Orsi, Chandler Salvig and Ruiz.

Coach Jackson Lenoir praised his teams win, "Great win today for our seniors! I am very proud of them for all the hard work and commitment they have put in during their time here. We now have to focus our attention to another big conference match on Tuesday against a scrappy Freed-Hardeman team."


UP NEXT:
The Firehawks will travel to Henderson, Tenn. to face former TSAC foe Freed-Hardeman on Tuesday, October 19th. First serve is set to begin at 7 p.m.
