Box Score The Firehawks men's soccer team fell to the Missouri Baptist Spartans 5-4 in overtime.
The Firehawks led at the break powered by an unassisted 41st minute goal by Paul Castell. The second half however was quite a show by both teams. MBU would jump out in front 3-1 on early goals from Louie Perez, Joe Ruane and Reece Kral. With just 20 minutes to go the Firehawks still had a fighting chance. Pietari Vanska struck in the 72nd minute off the boot of Manuel Otero. As time began to dwindle down, Manuel Morales fired a cross in front of the goal that resulted in an own goal for the Spartans to bring the score level at three. Carlos Galan and Miguel Tizapa worked beautifully together to give the Firehawks the edge in the 80th minute. Minutes later MBU would strike back and force an extra period of the boot of Nicolo Tossici. The MBU would end the match on a golden goal from Grant Strauser in the 94th minute
Missouri Baptist would improve to 1-5, and UTS would fall to 1-3.
