Box Score Pulaski, Tenn. - A dominate defensive performance led the UTS volleyball team to their second straight sweep defeating Freed-Hardeman 25-18, 25-11, 25-15 Tuesday night.
The Firehawks (11-5, 2-3 MSC) led early and often over the Lions (5-7, 1-4 MSC). Brianna Turner and Maca Ruiz led the team offensively with 13 kills each. Laura Howell compiled 44 assists and three digs. Summer Jackson added 10 digs for the Firehawks.
The Firehawks recorded double digit kills in all three sets, and held FHU to only a 21 kills in the match.
Coach Jackson Lenoir commented on the win, "There was a great ambiance in the CAC tonight. We had a great team effort, and we deposited a big MSC win. We must continue to improve on limiting our service errors. This sets up great momentum for our two matches Friday and Saturday."
