Box Score 2 WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The University of Tennessee Southern volleyball team dropped a three setter to Bryan (19-25, 16-25, 23-25) and defeated Ohio Christian in in four (26-24, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18) on Saturday.
Bryan started the match on fire and held the Firehawks in check to take the win.
Sophia Ortega led with nine kills. Morgan Avrit added eight kills and seven digs. Laura Howell contributed eight kills and 22 assists. Kayle Moody recorded eight digs for the Firehawks.
In game two, UT Southern edged out Ohio Christian in the tight first set, and the Firehawks would try to sweep the Trailblazers. OCU would force a fourth set, but would ultimately fail to extend the match to a final set.
Sophia Ortega led with 20 kills and 15 digs. Morgan Avrit added 14 kills and 13 digs. Laura Howell contributed 10 digs and 40 assists. Hailey Walker recorded 17 digs in the match.
NEXT UP
UT Southern will travel to Nashville, Tenn. to face Tennessee State in an exhibition on Tuesday, August 22nd. The first serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
