Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern volleyball team hosted Fisk taking a three-set sweep (25-19, 25-16, 25-18) over Fisk on Tuesday. Prior to the match junior Laura Howell was honored for breaking the 2,000 career assist barrier. She is the first Firehawk to accomplish this feat, and she is the fourth in program history to pass 2,000.
UT Southern (7-5) got out to an early lead in set one and withstood the Bulldog comeback. The second set saw UT Southern jump out to a big lead, but Fisk fought back to within five before the Firehawks would take set two. UT Southern would take the final set sending the Bulldogs home with a loss.
Sophia Ortega led with eight kills and eight digs. Howell compiled 20 assists. Hailey Walker picked up 12 digs, and Isabella Garza found 10 digs.

UT Southern will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face the Crusaders on Friday, September 15th. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.
