Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ido and Nawa Brace, No. 5 Firehawks Knockout Knights

COCHRAN, Ga. - The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team started a Central Georgia tour traveling to battle Middle Georgia State. The Firehawks defeated the Knights 6-1 on Thursday.
In the first half, the Firehawks and Knights battled to get good looks against each sides respective defense. In the 29th minute, Maclani Michael broke the zero on the scoreboard putting the Firehawks in from 1-nil. UTS led in shots at the break 8-3.
In the final half, the Firehawks scored five goals to earn another conference win. In the 49th minute, Keito Ido netted the game winner from the Marina Nawa pass. in the 63rd minute, Nawa netted an unassisted strike. In the 74th minute, Nao Katamoto finished the Michael lag. In the 79th minute, Ido completed a brace from Katamoto. With a 5-nil lead, the home squad put one in the net to dissolve the Firehawk clean sheet effort. In the final minutes, Katamoto would add a brace from the Nawa assist. UTS outshot the Knights 19-6 and led 10-4 in shots on goal.  
Stephanie Hodgson (4-0-1) allowed one goal and recorded three saves enroute to the win.
NEXT UP
The Firehawks will travel to Mt. Vernon, Ga., to battle Brewton-Parker on Saturday, October 12th. The Firehawks and Barons will clash at 12:30 p.m.
