MT. VERNON, Ga. - The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team won their fourth straight Southern States Athletic Conference match with a 6-1 result over Brewton-Parker on Saturday. This was only the second home soccer match for the Barons since hurricane Helene inflicted her wrath on the Southeast.
In the first half, the Firehawks took a lead they never would relinquish scoring a pair.
Manuel Villena put the Firehawks in the lead in the 28
th minute. Just before the half,
Lorick Gustave doubled the UT Southern lead on the assist by
Rostand Essomba. UTS led in shots at the break 9-7 and 6-2 in shots on goal.
In the final half, the Firehawks netted four more goals to seal another conference win. BPC would shave the UTS lead down to one four minutes into the half. In the 67
th minute,
Mak Binder, added the Firehawk lead. In the 71
st minute,
Tayte Aldridge padded the Firehawk lead.
Manuel Silva scored the final two goals of the match. UTS outshot the Barons 19-11 and led 14-4 in shots on goal.
Louis Hester (1-2) allowed one goal and recorded three saves.

th. The Firehawks and Runnin' Eagles will battle at 6:30 p.m.
