PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team welcomed the top team in the land to Grissom Pitch on Saturday. UT Southern traded haymakers with #1 Dalton State and ended with a nil-nil draw.
In the first half, the Firehawks traded blows with the Roadrunners trailing in shots 5-3 at the break. Louis Hester was a defensive force making two huge saves.
In the final half, the Firehawks dominated the shot count by the tune of 6-1. The UT Southern defense only allowed one shot by the top team in the land. UTS outshot Dalton State 9-6 and led 4-3 in shots on goal.
Hester (1-2-1) recorded three saves in a full time clean sheet.
NEXT UP
The Firehawks will travel to Thomasville, Ga., to tango with Thomas. The game was originally scheduled for September 28^th, was postponed due to hurricane Helene. The Firehawks and Nighthawks will battle at 12 p.m.
