THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team began the final road trip of the regular season with a trip to South Georgia to tango with Thomas. The Firehawks remained unbeaten in Southern States Athletic Conference play with a 3-1 win over the Nighthawks on Saturday. One final matchup with Abraham Baldwin looms in the distance tomorrow at 10 a.m.
In the first half, the Firehawks took the lead with a pair of goals to lead at the break. In the 27
th minute,
Maclani Michael netted her 21
st two pointer of the year from the double assist by
Keito Ido and
Jessica Glassman. Eight minutes later, Ido would 19
th score of the year on assists from
Nao Katamoto and
Kamilia Tayebi. UTS led in shots 27-3 after 45 minutes.
In the final half, the Firehawks added another goal to lead 3-nil. In the 61
st minute,
Hikaru Uchida found the twine for her 11
th goal on the year on the setup by
Miran Sakai. Thomas would find a late goal to close the gap to 3-1. UTS dominated the shot count by the tune of 37-7 and in shots on target 20-2.
Stephanie Hodgson (7-0-1) recorded one save and allowed one goal in a full time effort.

The Firehawks will travel to Tifton, Ga., to battle Abraham Baldwin on Sunday, October 27
th. . The game was originally scheduled for September 29
th, was postponed due to hurricane Helene. The Firehawks and Stallions will battle at 10 a.m.
