Second Half Goals Upend Firehawks Against No. 16 Crusaders

PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team began Southern States Athletic Conference play against #16 William Carey on Thursday. Both squads scored goals in the second half, but UTS fell 3-1 in the matchup.
In the first half, both squads would dial up the defensive pressure only allowing a pair of shots for each offensive unit. The Firehawks would have the only shot on target in the first half.
In the final half, the Crusaders scored three goals, 51st minute, 75th minute, and 82nd minute, to take a 3-nil lead. In the final minute, Manuel Villena spoiled the Crusader clean sheet from the hail mary pass from Ezekiel Opie. WCU would lead in shots 14-7 and would lead 8-3 in shots on target.
Louis Hester (0-1) recorded five saves facing eight shots.
