PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team came up short in the second half falling to the University of Mobile 5-2 on Saturday. Both teams connected on penalty kicks in the opening half, but the Rams outscored the Firehawks 4-1 in the final 45 to escape Pulaski with a win.
In the first half, the Mobile scored first on a penalty kick in the 16
th minute. The Firehawks netted a penalty in the 28
th minute to level the game at one. The opening half proved to be a dazzling defensive matchup between the two squads. Mobile would have the shot lead at 10-3 in the first half.
In the final half, the Rams scored two quick goals that put the game away. Late in the half,
Manuel Silva finished the
Rostand Essomba lag to narrow the margin to three. Mobile would lead in shots 22-6 and would lead 11-4 in shots on target.
Louis Hester (0-2) recorded five saves facing 10 shots in the full time effort. Â
