Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Three Hauls and a Brace Highlight Firehawk Blitzkrieg of Ambassadors

PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team got back in the win column with a lopsided 19-nil home win against Oakwood on Sunday.
In the first half, the Firehawks burnt out the scoreboard lights netting 11 goals. The game winner came inside of the first minute. Manuel Flores finished the Manuel Villena pass to put the Firehawks in the lead. In the third minute, Flores struck again from the cross by Carlos Galan. Under a minute later, Villena scored off the Riley Barratt lag for the 3-nil lead. In the seventh minute, Lorick Gustave netted a two pointer from the Flores helper. Flores would strike for the next two scores giving him a haul in the match. His third and fourth goals were assisted by Manuel Silva and Barratt. With the 6-nil lead, Mak Binder scored the next pair of goals. Binder was assisted by Tayte Aldridge and Villena. Villena, assisted by Stephen Bailey, scored in the 16th minute for the ninth Firehawk goal. Gabriel Vielma netted the final two first half goals on assists by Nick Miske and Bailey. UTS led 27-0 in shots and 16-0 with shots on target at the break.
In the final half, the Firehawks poured on eight more scores. Oliver Fallon recorded a second half haul with scores in the 47th, 53rd, 65th, and 69th minutes. He was assisted by Alan Munoz, Vielma, Dylan Thunder, and Daniel McCarthy. Vielma added a third goal in the 50th minute from the Fallon helper. Vielma would complete a haul on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute.  Dakota Jackson and Estaban Rangel netted their first goal as a Firehawk in the final half. Jackson's strike came in the 57th minute from Thunder's well-placed pass. Rangel netted the final goal of the match in the 86th minute from the Munoz setup. UTS dominated the final shot count 40-0 and 27-0 in shots on goal.  
Michael Anderson (5-1) and Louis Hester didn't face a shot in either half sharing the clean sheet.

The Firehawks will welcome Point University to Grissom Pitch for a Southern States Athletic Conference showdown on Wednesday, October 2nd. The Firehawks and Skyhawks both joined the SSAC last season. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. after the conclusion of the women's match.
