PULASKI, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team welcomed Brescia to Grissom Pitch on Saturday. The Firehawks scorched the Bearcats in a 6-1 win.
In the first half, the Firehawks scored three goals blowing the game open against the visitors from Owensboro.
Manuel Flores netted all three Firehawk finishes in the opening half. His first came in the 22
nd minute from
Riley Barratt. In the 25
th minute, a defensive misplay led to Flores' second goal with the help of
George Grice. In the 34
th minute, he finished a double assist from
Oliver Fallon and
Manuel Villena. UTS led 14-2 in shots at the break.
In the final half, the Firehawks added three more scores after a Brescia goal broke up the clean sheet. Grice scored his first of two from the lag by
Manuel Silva in the 78
th minute. Nine minutes later, Grice struck again from the
Lorick Gustave helper. In the 89
th minute, reserve
Dylan Thunder found the twine from a beautiful
Hector Garcia and Silva double assist. UT Southern dominated the shot count 21-9 and tripled up the Bearcats in shots on target 9-3.
Michael Anderson (4-0) faced two shots on target recording two saves.
Louis Hester worked the second half between the sticks allowing one goal.
