FOLEY, Ala. - The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team concluded the Orange Beach Classic with an unfavorable 2-3 result with #8 Keiser on Sunday.
In the first half, the Firehawks scored the lone goal of the half.
Marina Nawa netted her 10
th goal of the season from the
Nao Katamoto lag. The score held true until the 54
th minute in the final half. KU led in shots 7-6 at the break.
In the final half, the Firehawks fell victim to three two pointers from the Seahawks to trail 1-3 with 15 minutes remaining.
Keito Ido, 2021 national goal scoring leader, added a second UTS goal to close the margin. The Firehawks had many great looks in the final 10 minutes but couldn't find the back of the net. KU led the shot count 19-15 and held a slight margin in shots on target 9-7.
Petra Brncova (5-1) faced seven shots on target recording four saves in 75 minutes.
Stephanie Hodgson worked the final 15 minutes between the sticks recording two saves.
