SPARTA, Ill. – The UT Southern Clay Target team delivered a strong all-around showing at the ACUI 2025 Collegiate Fall Central Midwest Conference Championships, placing fourth overall in the High Overall (HOA) team standings. The Firehawks posted a team total of 2,084 targets, just 13 targets shy of a podium finish and 30 targets behind champion Fort Hays State University (2,114).

Firehawk Highlights by Event
Doubles Skeet (50 Targets)
UT Southern showed depth in doubles skeet, led by Jackson Williams with a 49, followed closely by Ben Yarbrough (48), Zachary Rippeto (47), Tyler Mosley (47), and Nathaniel Myers (46) to form a consistent scoring unit.
Doubles Trap (50 Targets)
Ben Yarbrough (Unionville, Tenn.) delivered a perfect 50/50 to claim first place overall, marking one of the event's standout individual performances. Chase Kelly (Savannah, Tenn.) was close behind with a 49, while Zachary Rippeto (47), John Crutcher (46), and Garrison Farmer (46) rounded out a balanced top-five.
Super Sporting (50 Targets)
In Super Sporting, Nathaniel Myers, Ellie Huddleston, and John Crutcher each shot 42s, followed by Garrison Farmer and Tyler Mosley with 41s, highlighting team consistency across the event.
American Skeet (100 Targets)
The Firehawks' skeet lineup produced one of their best team totals of the weekend. Jackson Williams, Ben Yarbrough, Haley Starmer, Zachary Rippeto, and Tyler Mosley all finished at 98 or better, including a pair of 99s from Williams and Yarbrough.
Starmer's score also earned her runner-up honors among all women's competitors.
Sporting Clays (100 Targets)
UT Southern maintained its competitive edge in Sporting Clays, led by Nathaniel Myers (87) and Jackson Williams (83). Ben Yarbrough (83), Tyler Mosley (81), and Ellie Huddleston (78) contributed to another strong team effort.
American Trap (100 Targets)
The Firehawks shined in trap competition, with Ben Yarbrough and Joshua Murray both posting perfect 100s. Shelby Clayton (99), Chase Kelly (99), and Garrison Farmer (99) each narrowly missed perfection to give UT Southern one of the top trap team scores in the field.
Clayton also earned first place individually among women's shooters in the event.
