MONTGOMERY, Ala. – UT Southern junior forward Ramie Reid has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for the week of November 10–16.
Reid, a junior from Hayden, Ala., earned her first-career weekly honor after powering the Firehawks through a 2–1 week that included a road victory over No. 24 Lindsey Wilson. She averaged 15.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 57 percent from the field and going a perfect 100 percent at the free-throw line.
Her week was highlighted by an 18-point, 10-rebound performance in an overtime win against Cumberland. She followed that effort with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting in UT Southern's ranked win over Lindsey Wilson.
Reid becomes the third different Firehawk to earn an SSAC weekly award already this season, marking three consecutive weeks with a UT Southern player receiving an offensive honor.
