YPSILANTI, Mich. – Making her second NAIA Championship appearance in her career at UT Southern,
Iona Pollitt finished 30
th in the individual standings. The 72-hole event began on Tuesday with each participant shooting a round each day. The event was held at Eagle Crest Golf Club.
Pollitt shot rounds of 79, 70, 78, and 79 ending up with a 306 total scorecard. She started the four-day event with four birdies in the opening round placing 43
rd.
She shot her best round of the week on Wednesday, firing a two under 70. She started out with four straight birdies on holes three-six, and added two more on the back nine. Pollitt moved up to 11
th in the individual standings.
Pollitt gathered up 14 pars in round three, but the other four hole played havoc during the round. Advancing to the final round, she highlighted one birdie and 10 pars to finish in 30
th.
CHARACTER ACT AWARD WINNERS
During the event, the NAIA named a pair of Character Act Award winners. Hannah Ullibari, from The Master's (Calif.) and
Iona Pollitt, of Tennessee Southern, both earned the award for sportsmanship acts during the week. Both competitors were individual qualifiers.
