PULASKI, Tenn. - The No. 10 UT Southern women's soccer team continued its dominance in the long-standing rivalry with Bethel (TN), taking a 3-0 victory Wednesday evening at Grissom Pitch. This was the 32nd all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Firehawks now holding a commanding 30-1-1 record in the series.
UT Southern opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Kamilia Tayebi finished a setup from Hikaru Uchida to put the Firehawks ahead 1-0. After a tightly contested first half that saw Bethel reduced to 10 players following a red card, the Firehawks took full control after halftime.
Charlotte Taylor scored twice in the second half, both assisted by Uchida. Her first came in the 74th minute, and she followed it up just six minutes later with a goal off a corner kick, with Uchida and Millie Rayner providing the build-up.
Goalkeeper Stephanie Hodgson kept a clean sheet, making three saves across the 90 minutes. Uchida was the creative force, finishing with three assists and three shots on goal, while Taylor's two-goal performance sealed the result.
