FOLEY, Ala. – The #10-ranked UT Southern women's soccer team fell 2-0 to defending national champion and #8-ranked SCAD Savannah on Thursday afternoon at the Foley Tourism Stadium as part of the Orange Beach Classic.
The Firehawks (1-1-1) faced an aggressive SCAD attack, as the Bees outshot UT Southern 18-3 and scored once in each half to secure the win.
SCAD opened the scoring in the 20th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Firehawks' defense tightened up for the remainder of the first half, but SCAD added an insurance goal just seconds into the second half to make it 2-0, which held as the final score.
