MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern was represented on the 2025 SSAC Volleyball Scholar-Athlete Team as Ashlee Kraft earned conference-wide academic and athletic recognition, as announced by the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Kraft posted a 3.85 cumulative GPA, ranking among the top GPAs on this year's Scholar-Athlete Team, while making an immediate impact on the court in her first season with the Firehawks. A key contributor throughout the year, Kraft earned All-Conference honors and was named the SSAC Newcomer of the Year, becoming one of just eight student-athletes league-wide selected to the prestigious Scholar-Athlete Team.
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be sophomores or above, maintain a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA, and serve as starters or significant reserves while competing in at least 50 percent of their team's matches. Every honoree on the 2025 team also received All-Conference recognition.
Kraft's selection highlights UT Southern volleyball's continued commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the court, as she distinguished herself among the conference's top-performing student-athletes during the 2025 season.
