WALESKA, Ga. – UT Southern swimming continued to shine in the classroom as multiple Firehawks earned spots on the 2025-26 Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Academic Teams, announced by the league this week.
On the women's side, Morgan Brosch and Alli Wells represented the Firehawks on the AAC Women's Swimming All-Academic Team. Brosch's standout year was further recognized as she was also selected to the conference's Champions of Character Team, an honor awarded to one student-athlete from each institution who exemplifies integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
The UT Southern men were equally well represented, with Rafael Gallegos, Michael McDaniel, and Tyson Ries earning All-Academic honors. Ries added another accolade to his season by being named to the Champions of Character Team, highlighting his impact both in the pool and beyond.
The academic recognition caps off a strong regular season for the Firehawks as they now turn their attention to postseason competition. UT Southern will compete at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Swimming Championships beginning Thursday in Kingsport, Tenn., looking to carry their success from the classroom into the pool.
