PULASKI, Tenn. – UT Southern Women's Tennis hosted Southeast Missouri State on Thursday, February 12, at the D. Ann Neville Tennis Complex, facing a strong Division I opponent in midweek action.

Southeast Missouri State claimed the doubles point by sweeping all three courts. At No. 1 doubles, Natalia Vergara and Maggie Barnett competed but fell 6-2. The No. 2 pairing of Sofi Rueda and Maya Balle faced a tough challenge, while Sheyla Zombrano and Anna Wernerowicz rounded out doubles play at the No. 3 position.

In singles action, UT Southern battled throughout the lineup against a deep SEMO roster. Sheyla Zombrano competed at the top spot, followed by Rueda at No. 2 and Vergara at No. 3. Maggie Barnett, Wernerowicz, and Bailey Cantrell completed the singles lineup for the Firehawks. Despite competitive effort across the courts, SEMO secured the remaining points to take the 7-0 decision.

No. 6: Bailey Cantrell fell 6-0, 6-0

UT Southern will return to action on Thursday, February 20, when the Firehawks host Milligan at the D. Ann Neville Tennis Complex.
