MARIETTA, Ga. - The UT Southern cheer team posted a pair of first-place finishes Saturday at the Life University Cheer Classic in Marietta, Georgia, capturing team titles in two separate events.
In the first event, the Firehawks claimed the top spot with a score of 87.80, finishing ahead of Florida Memorial University (86.67) and host Life University (86.65). Loyola University New Orleans placed fourth at 85.60, followed by William Carey (79.63) and Brewton-Parker Christian (73.10).
UT Southern followed up with another strong performance in the second event, improving its score to 90.25 to once again secure first place. Florida Memorial finished second with an 89.07, while Life University placed third at 86.75. Loyola New Orleans (85.58), William Carey (77.70) and Brewton-Parker Christian (69.38) rounded out the field.
The Firehawks' consistency across both events highlighted continued progress in execution and overall performance as the team builds toward postseason competition.
UT Southern returns to action on March 7 at the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship in Decatur, Alabama.
